It all started as a dream - to live and work in a bucolic setting with family and friends surrounding us. In 2019, we took a big leap on a property that would work for us and set seed for what would become our business! In 2020, we launched Minerva’s Meadow, LLC - our little family-run flower farm. We have grown in many ways since our founding, and gone through much evolution, not to mention some real challenges. Still, we rise. We look forward to growing seeds with you all. To us, flowers are family. The land we inhabit is the ancestral land of the Báxoje (or Ioway), the Sauk and Meskwaki and the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (or Sioux). Many of our Indigenous communities were forcibly removed to areas of Oklahoma but some of whom remain and continue to thrive in Iowa. We are thankful and humbled by their contributions to this land and also to the many other ways in which they shape our culture. We are still learning about ourselves, our ancestors, and the people whose land we inhabit. A CSA share is a way to support your local farmer and receive local, fresh, seasonal, direct-from-the-farm flowers. Each CSA purchase represents a share of the season’s crop. At Minerva’s Meadow, the season typically lasts from mid-April to mid-October, but may vary depending on the weather. Once we have received your order, we will contact you via email prior to the start of the season with additional details. You may purchase more than one share for yourself, or gift them to others. Where: Members may pick up their shares at Wheatsfield in Ames, or on-farm in State Center, Iowa. If you are interested in adding another pick-up location, please contact us and let us know! If you are unable to pick up your share, we will gift your bouquet to another person to spread the joy.
