Highlighting the Prairie

A natural no-till flower farm that celebrates the grasslands and all of nature’s beauty.

Our values.

No-Till

It all begins with the soil. By utilizing a no-till approach to our farm, we are creating a stable environment for our flower friends, busy bugs, and workaholic worms. We love and admire them all and want to make sure they stick around! No-till allows us to foster a solid foundation for our farm and farm-friends to grow and thrive.

Natural

It all thrives naturally. We highlight Nature’s amazing growing power by avoiding the use of man-made chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and rely on natural soil amendments. By employing natural farming techniques, we build upon our No-Till approach and only make use of organic products some of which are created here at the farm.

Woman-Owned

And family-run. With three generations working together, we have built our dream to create and highlight beautiful blooms for all. We are stalwart anti-racists and are avid supporters of local businesses and buying local. If you’re looking for support or a collaborative partner in your endeavors, reach out! We’d love to talk.

Who we are.

It all started as a dream - to live and work in a bucolic setting with family and friends surrounding us. In 2019, we took a big leap on a property that would work for us and set seed for what would become our business!

In 2020, we launched Minerva’s Meadow, LLC - our little family-run flower farm. We have grown in many ways since our founding, and gone through much evolution, not to mention some real challenges. Still, we rise. We look forward to growing seeds with you all. To us, flowers are family.

The land we inhabit is the ancestral land of the Báxoje (or Ioway), the Sauk and Meskwaki and the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (or Sioux). Many of our Indigenous communities were forcibly removed to areas of Oklahoma but some of whom remain and continue to thrive in Iowa. We are thankful and humbled by their contributions to this land and also to the many other ways in which they shape our culture.

We are still learning about ourselves, our ancestors, and the people whose land we inhabit. If you’d like to learn more about your area, we’ve found Native Land Digital and the Native Governance Center good places to start.
